Overview

Lone Star Artists is really just a dba for me (Beverly) -- and a few highly qualified web wizards I occasionally subcontract with for specialized projects.

My penchant is designing custom websites and graphics for performing artists and music related businesses.  With 20+ years background in the music business as a publicist and promoter, and 14 years as a graphics and website designer and developer, I know what elements a good artist site should contain.

I'm blessed to work (and have worked in the past with) some of the most talented musicians and industry professionals in the world - artists that have perfected their craft, and constantly inspire me to do my best.  I am constantly studying, taking classes, and reading to expand my skills and stay informed about latest trends and web related technologies.  I don't advertise very much; most of my clients have been referred to me by current or former clients.

I host most of my client's websites on my dedicated server.  It runs great, and I have a round-the-clock team of great techs in my corner if a question or glitch arises.  It's been very reliable and my clients have been very happy with it.

I build sites in either Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Expression, Xara Web Builder or Macromedia Dreamweaver.  I primarily design graphics with Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium, or Xara Extreme Pro.

If you're into Photoshop as much as I am, DEFINITELY check out Al Ward's extraordinary ActionFX website for Photoshop resources; actions, styles, web graphics, tutorials, and much, much more.  Al is a highly respected guru of all things Photoshop and has authored quite a few valuable books as well.  Not only have I used many of his custom actions and styles, it is the best site I know of for design inspiration...and he's a great guy to boot!

Xara Software

Another company that makes great software.  This UK based company is very popular in Europe, and are gaining more fans in the US all the time.  I highly recommend their products, but when working with vector graphics, Xara Extreme Pro is truly amazing.  You can learn more about their products here.

My Rates

I've received a few emails asking "how much a website costs."  That's pretty hard to answer; kind of like asking me how much a car costs -- it really depends on what you want.  Each project must be quoted individually.

My fees range from $30 - $60 per hour.  I've built sites that have ranged in price from $300 to $5,000.
